1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your session state, preferences, and certain security information across page loads and visits. Devv Technology uses cookies only where strictly necessary for authentication and secure session management.
2. Cookies We Use
Provider: Supabase
Purpose: Stores your encrypted JWT session token after login. Required for all authenticated routes. Without this cookie, you will be logged out on every page load.
Duration: Session (expires when you close your browser or after 7 days of inactivity)
Domain: .devv.co.za (shared across all Devv sub-apps)
Provider: Supabase
Purpose: Enables automatic session refresh without requiring you to log in again. The refresh token is used to obtain a new access token when the current one expires (every 60 minutes).
Duration: 30 days (persistent)
Domain: .devv.co.za
Provider: Devv Technology (first-party)
Purpose: Remembers your display theme preference (dark/light mode) so you do not need to select it on each visit.
Duration: 1 year
3. What We Do NOT Use
Devv Technology does not use any of the following on our owned-and-operated platforms:
- Third-party advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, etc.)
- Analytics cookies that track you across websites (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
- Social media tracking pixels
- Fingerprinting or device identification scripts
4. Cross-App Session Sharing
To deliver a seamless single sign-on experience across the Devv ecosystem, the Supabase authentication cookies are scoped to the root domain .devv.co.za. This means your session is automatically recognised when you navigate between devv.co.za, ebooks.devv.co.za, stagr.devv.co.za, and other Devv sub-apps. No additional login is required.
5. Managing Cookies
Because the authentication cookies are strictly necessary for service delivery, they cannot be disabled without logging out. You may manage or delete cookies via your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
Clearing cookies will log you out of all Devv services. You can log back in at any time.
6. Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new cookies or change how existing ones are used. Material changes will be communicated via the platform notification system.
